Jenova

Age: 2000+

Bio:
Originally known to the Cetra as "the Crisis from the Sky," Jenova first came to the Planet over 2000 years prior to the game. She approached the Cetra first as a friend, but soon gave them the "virus," which may be what nearly wiped out the Cetra. Jenova's existene prevented the Planet from healing the wound her coming had inflicted, so it created the Weapons. However, some of the surviving Cetra banded together, defeated, and confined Jenova before the Weapons were ready, and so they were never used against her.

Jenova lay dormant until she was discovered by the Shinra roughly thirty years prior to the game. Shinra scientists, mistaking her for a Cetra, experimented with her cells in an attempt to create a being with the powers of the Cetra. Professor Gast named her Jenova, and his experiments produced Sephiroth, who, when he learned of his origins, decided to go to the Promised Land of the Cetra with his "mother," Jenova.
