Professor Gast

Job: Head of Shinra's Science Department Bio: Professor Gast was the scientist who discovered and named Jenova, and he initated the Jenova Project believing that she was an Ancient. Some years later, he learned that he was mistaken, after which he left Shinra and went into hiding in Snow Village. He continued his research there through his interviews with Ifalna. The two eventually fell in love and had a daughter, Aeris. Not three weeks after her birth, however, Professor Hojo found them, and Gast was shot while trying to protect Ifalna.
