Dyne

Job: Coal Miner Residence: Corel Bio: Dyne was Barret's best friend; they grew up together in Corel. About four years prior to the game, Shinra came to the town offering to build a Mako reactor there. Dyne protested it, but he was overruled; the other villagers agreed that times were changing, and so the reactor was built. While Barret and Dyne were out of town, there was an explosion at the reactor. Shinra blamed it on a "rebel faction" and burned Corel to the ground. Troops attacked Barret and Dyne as they tried to return to the village. Dyne's left hand was mangled by gunfire, and he fell into a ravine. His wife Eleanor died in the fire, but, unbeknownst to him, Barret managed to save his baby daughter Marlene. The incident left Dyne full of rage and despair. He had a gun grafted onto his useless left arm, but directed his anger at everyone, rather than taking revenge on the Shinra like Barret.
