Cid Highwind

Job: Pilot Age: 32 Height: 5'8" Birthdate: February 22 Blood Type: B Weapon: Spear Residence: Rocket Town Official Bio: Cid is a tough-talking, warm-hearted old pilot who hasn't forgotten his dreams. There's no better pilot by air or sea. He believes someday he'll fly to the ends of the universe. With his handmade spear and knowledge of machinery, he throws himself into any attack regardless of the danger. Extended Bio: Cid was a pilot for Shinra during the Wutain War. As their best, he was selected to be the first man into space with Shinra's new rocket: the Shinra No. 26. However, during the launch a mechanic named Shera was still working in the engine section of the rocket, and Cid hit the emergency engine shut down button to save her life. Cid blames her for ruining his dream, and she puts up with how he treats her because she agrees with him. Contrary to appearances, the two are not married, and though Cid might wish otherwise, he would never admit it. In the years since the launch failure, a town has grown up around the rocket, with Cid as defacto mayor. He hasn't yet given up on Shinra's space program, but he doesn't have much faith in it either. He joins Cloud's party because their quest is crazy enough for him to like it.
