About

People always ask me where the name "Yinza" comes from, and the simple answer is that I made it up. In grade school I had the misfortune of being in a class with three other girls with the same name. I got tired of perpetually asking "Which one?" whenever my name was called, and decided to start going by something else.

I consider myself a gamer, if not the most avid or coordinated. First-person shooters ever elude my ability. Final Fantasy VIII was the first game I ever beat on my own, and my first real presence on the internet was a fan site on Angelfire. But, Final Fantasy VII became my real infatuation, and it remains my favorite game of all time.

One of my true passions is language. I've long had dreams of being a novelist, and have been entranced with foreign language since I was introduced to French in grade school. I studied both French and Latin throughout high school.

I went to college to learn Japanese, and spent the spring semester of my junior year studying at Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan. I graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor's in East Asian Studies, and I continue to study independently in my free time. I'm not fluent yet, but eventually I hope to be.

Currently I work in IT as a SQL developer. I had never even heard of SQL before starting the job.
